S&P 500 Breaks out

Posted by Don on November 18, 2009

Well no one likes to be wrong, but it looks like I was when I called for a double top last week.  The S&P 500 broke thru the 1100 level to close at 1109 and then held the 1100 level yesterday.  This should give us another leg up until we run into resistance at about [...]

My reasons for choosing Lending Club was mostly that I could fund [...]

Late day Market Reversal

Posted by Don on October 21, 2009

Don’t look now friends but the market staged a late day reversal in the face of very good earnings reports today.  As evidenced in the article by Midnight Trader the market turned from up all day to a large drop in the last hour.

If you look at the chart, the S&P 500 is still in [...]

Hello all.  Long time no write.   We have had a tough time the last couple of months in which we lost a dear friend, and my new position at work has taken a tremendous amount of time.
Anyway, in getting the kids in school and getting life back to normal for us, I began getting back [...]

Market perspective 6-30-09

Posted by Don on June 30, 2009

Hello all.  I just got back from vacation this weekend and am trying to get back up to speed on what is going on in the world.  It looks like the market had a bullish moving average crossover last week.  The 50 day simple MA crossed the 200 day MA and the S&P 500 price [...]

Economy not as strong as the market

Posted by Don on June 11, 2009

Don’t believe the stock market.  We are up 34% from March.  There are multiple schools on what causes inflation, but while I don’t believe we may see consumer inflation anytime soon because of the underutilized capacity.
The economy isn’t as strong as everyone is making it out to be right now.  We lost another 600,000 jobs [...]
